During the Middle Ages, far away in the desert in the town of Mecca lived a man called Mohammed. He created a teaching called the Islam. Mohammed’s followers also started building temples of their own called mosques. The time of the Late Middle Ages began. That period has left us thousands of marvelous buildings – mosques, baths and schools.
