Roads connect the various points across the world. People trade, transport goods and travel along these roads. Exchange of various cultures also takes place there. The roads cross, gather and form the variety of unique cultural treasures of the world. Some of these roads date back from hundred of years, but are still used to this day. For example, the Romans built thousands of kilometres of stone roads. Many of the modern roads pass along the old Roman routes. Other roads are used for traditional activities to this day. We call the roads along which cultural processes have taken place for thousands of years cultural roads. The notions of cultural routes and cultural corridors are also used.
