In the course of time the Earth became wormer, and only the highest mountains had snow during summer. This happened about 7000 years before the new era (B.C.). People started cultivating the land. They learned how to grow plants for sowing, and they used the seeds to make bread. Then they started building homes. The first dwellings, built by people were in the water – in order to have protection from the wild animals. We call them pile dwellings. At that time other strange looking shelters, made of stone, also came to existence – we call them dolmens. It is assumed that these treasures were one of the first sanctuaries of the prehistoric men.
