WHEN WERE THE TREASURES CREATED?
The oldest tools of toil were tree branches and stones. Finally, most probably about 3000 years B.C, a new, much more convenient and durable material for the tools was found - the metal. Initially this was copper, yet when people mixed it with tin, the bronze was invented. We call this time the Bronze period. This is the time when the first big civilizations have come into sight. The towns and crafts emerged and together with them the trade evolved. Yet our ancestors were not able to explain the nature phenomena – there were some periods of draught, other periods of rain, of strong sun, of long winters, storms and lightnings. The people realized that there were more powerful forces than themselves. They thought that these phenomena were mastered by superior beings – the gods. This is witnessed by the first gods’ home, inherited from that period, the temples.
