Most probably you heard about the pretty wife of the Greek king Menelaus, Helena, who flied away with the young Paris; about the feats of the two heroes Hector and Achilles; about Troy. All this took place over 30 centuries ago. The ancient singers used to verse these stories, accompanied by their music lyres at festivities and celebrations. The songs passed from mouth to mouth and later on they were written down on parchment. So finally they reached us as a treasure that had survived in time.
Several centuries later, about 7 century BC, started one of the most important early periods in the development of mankind – the Antiquity.
