The culture of Ancient Greece also left thousand of treasures to our days. The ancient Hellenes worshipped many gods, but above all, up in Olympus mountain they placed Zeus. The worship of Zeus, their love to sports, the developed aesthetic taste and the common language were the main prerequisites for the union of the ancient Greek people. The ancient Greeks created the science of philosophy, the theatre, and they embodied beauty into poetry. However, they needed buildings for all those activities. So they developed also the art of architecture. They left us such treasures, serving us as models to learn from. Their marble temples astonish us with their perfect proportions, fine measure and beauty. In such way the antique architects created the orders in architecture – a system of rules, proportions and aesthetics, which they turned into art.
