Quite naturally the next world civilization – The Roman one, was influenced by the attainments of the ancient Greeks. A large part of the ancient Greek treasures, which we enjoy today, have been protected and preserved by the Romans.
During the Rome period marvellous, stone covered roads were created, crossing our lands in all directions. The Romans also designed and built numerous water pipelines, called aqueducts. They used them to supply fresh water to their towns. They also invented the calendar, which you use today. The first resort towns were built, which needed new type of buildings. So the Romans left us more treasures – antique baths, called thermae, gorgeous villas outside the towns, marble pools, floor heating, unique frescoes, theatres, forums.
