In 476 the last Roman Emperor was dethroned. This date is considered the beginning of the Middle Ages. These initial years are also known as the Great migration of people. New countries were created, others dissolved. During this period the official religion was Christianity. People believed only in one God and to glorify its name they created temples, unique in its splendour and magnificence. Many early Christian churches from the time of the Early Middle Ages survived to present days.
