During the Antiquity the mystical culture of the Thracians developed. The Thracian people consisted of various tribes. About 5 century BC they established one of the first state unions on the territory of Europe – the Odris kingdom.
The Thracians believed that the Universe was created by all-mighty powers. In order to ask mercy from all gods, they offered as sacrifice animals and valuable gifts. So the Thracians sanctuaries occurred.
The Thracians have also believed that the happy life of man starts after his death. That is why for the kings they have built stone tombs, decorated with mural painting and sculptures. They have covered the tombs with mounds of earth.
