WHEN WERE THE TREASURES CREATED?
In Palestine, which at that time was a Roman province, Jesus Christ was born. He preached that it is not important whether a man is rich or poor, well born or uneducated, master or slave, whether he is old or young – all men are children of God and God's love, mercy and justice are endless. The Christians, followers of Jesus Christ, didn’t want to praise the rulers, who at that time were honoured as gods. In 313 one of the Roman Emperors, Constantine, declared Christianity the official religion of Rome. Later on he moved the capital of the Roman Empire. In 395 there were not only two capitals, but also two Empires – West Roman Empire with capital Rome and East Roman Empire with capital Constantinople. This is how the time of Byzantine and the Middle Ages has come to life.
