At the beginning of the new millennium, at about 1000 AD the development of crafts, trade and arts has started. The castles that you know from the fairy tales came to life. They were surrounded by a fortress wall and moat. They had numerous pointed and toothed towers. The master lived in the highest tower. Soon the castles turned into attractive centre for those, who looked for protection and houses started to pop up at their walls. So the new towns came into existence.
