In the beginning of 7th century, when the monks in Europe taught the ordinary peasants, when fortresses were constructed and artful masters built and decorated churches, far in the desert, in the town of Mecca lived a man of the name of Mohammed. He created and started preaching his religion, called islamic. The Islamic religion preaches humbleness, virtue and charity. Its followers started building their own temples, which they called mosques. Thus the period of the Late Middle Ages started.
Thousands of beautiful buildings of the Islamic culture have survived to nowadays – mosques, baths, and schools.
