You will recognize the synagogue by its symbols of the Jewish religious tradition. One of them is the special candlestick with seven candle places that is called menorah. Another symbol is the six pointed star, more popular as the star of David. This symbol is built into the decoration of the synagogues. Also flowers, animals and inscriptions are used for decoration. The synagogue does not allow any human figures or faces as decoration. Women and men are separated at the religious services.
