….After the liberation a church has been built with a church bell tower, bought from Vienna, and the bell itself has an inscription in Greek. The Bulgarian translation of the inscription reads: “well-being” to the church “St. Nicolas in Asenovgrad”. This bell is the most beautiful one in Assenovgrad, highly estimated by all. Three Greek associations organize events to collect money for the town church bells. Part of these associations are: “The Holy Annunciation” and “The Holy Trinity”. There are also several chapels to the church “St. Nicolas”. The chapels of St. Simeon and St. Trifon are in the church courtyard. By the unification of the vine-growers and silkworm breeders, in 1836 were built both chapels with the assistance of the whole community. The chapels have outside bars and iron shutters, as if they are armored, no one could enter, and now they need restoration to be preserved, as part of the cultural heritage. The wall paintings inside are unique and of extreme value. On the frescos are depicted camels………..
