The earliest reference to Soko fort (Sokograd) dates from 1429. At that time the fortress belonged to Prince Radivoj, son of King Ostoja and brother of the Bosnian King Tomash. The Medieval building of the Old Soko Mosque was built in the first half of 15th century. But the Srebrenik region was inhabited by Muslims during the reign of Sultan Selim II (1512–1520). This is the time when the building is transformed into a mosque. It can be said that Soko Mosque is the oldest one in this area.
