ABOUT THE TREASURE
Excavations of the prehistoric settlement started in 1993. They revealed cultural layers from the period between 6200-4800 before Christ. The earliest layer indicates the earliest appearance of farming life in South Eastern Europe. Immigrant farmers from Anatolia brought here their skills for breeding of domestic animals such as sheep, goats, pigs, for growing of crops such as wheat and barley, and also for farm building and the making of clay vessels.
