ABOUT THE TREASURE
This archaeological site lies at the foot of the Belasica Mountain, at the intersection of the borders of three countries: Macedonia, Bulgaria and Greece. Partial excavations at this ancient spa have revealed ten rooms with walls more than seven metres high, fragments of a roof structure, and partly preserved fasade decoration. The spa had complete ventilation and heating systems. The pipes were built into the walls and under the floor. There are also another six very well-preserved pools and baths varying in depth and size. The remarkable architecture and strategic location make Banja a cultural and historical site of exceptional importance.
