ABOUT THE TREASURE
This temple, situated in the Forum of Pula, is dedicated to the goddess Roma and Emperor Augustus. It was built between the year 2 before Christ and 14, when the emperor died. The shape of the building follows the pattern typical of temples. After the end of the pagan age the temple was converted into a church; later, it was used as a granary and, at the beginning of the 19th century, as a museum for stone monuments. In 1944 it was destroyed completely. Rebuilt in 1945–1947, the temple now houses a collection of ancient stone and bronze sculptures.
