ABOUT THE TREASURE
If you take a stroll in downtown Athens you will see many beautiful and impressive buildings – the buildings of the National Library, the University, the Academy, and the Parliament. They were all built in the 19th century when the modern Greek state was formed.
The Library, the Academy and the University are impressive buildings inspired by Ancient architecture. The three buildings form the so-called “Athens Trilogy”. You will admire their colonnades, monumental staircases and harmonious forms.
The Parliament is the building in which the Greek National Assembly holds its sittings today. In the past it was a Royal Palace. In front of the building of the Parliament you may watch the change of the guard of honour ceremony every hour.
