Archaeological Site of Rataje in Miljevina
ABOUT THE TREASURE
At the top of the village Rataje vertically rises an isolated rock, more than 6 meters high, which is the central feature of the recently excavated Medieval complex. A cell is hollowed-out in the rock, in the centre of which there is a tomb in the form of human body. Above the eastern corner of the entrance to the cell there is an inscription in Bosnian Cyrillic, where the only deciphered word is the name Radoslav. To the south of the rock are the ruins of a mosque demolished in 1875 and of another, still insufficiently studied building. To the south-west is the tower of the Chengich-Ratajac family who were at the height of their powers in the late 17th and first half of the 18th century. A wall encircles the whole complex. To the south of the rock there was another burial ground with a surrounding wall, known as the Ibrahim-beg burial ground.
