Blagaj is one of the most valuable urban-rural structures in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Having a walk there you will see traces kept there from prehistoric times until today. You will feel their exceptional blend with the natural landscape, structures and forms. There you will find the spring of the Buna which is one of the most beautiful and largest groundwater springs in Europe.
You will manage to trace back the urban structure of Blagaj from the Middle Ages through the 17 – 19th centuries and the later administrative centеr up to today. Up on the hill, rises the mediaeval fort of Blagai. Walking along the streets of the town you can find several residential units that testify to the highly developed culture of living. The Velagicevina architectural ensemble is one of the most valuable ones of its type in Herzegovina.
