ABOUT THE TREASURE
Construction of the Cathedral Church of the Assumption began in 1177. The church, which was sanctify by Pope Alexander III, is a splendid Romanesque basilica where you can admire a beautiful altar from the eighth century, Late Gothic choir seats, and a twelfth-century statue of St. Christopher. The bell tower stands separately, dominating the townscape. It is considered to be one of the finest examples of Late Romanesque architecture in Croatia.
