Veroia is a town of a long history which continues to influence its life today. It is situated in Northern Greece near the historical city of Thessaloniki. The town flourished with the development of trade in the 18th century. Christians, Muslims and Jews lived side by side, building vernacular houses, vast mansions, churches, mosques and synagogues. Walking down the town’s narrow streets today you can still see the colourful old houses with bay windows and eaves, the neat backyards and the small squares where time has as if stopped.
