The Bled Fortress is a treasure that has outlived its time. We can find it beside an Alpine lake, hidden between picturesque mountains. Here the ancient Romans constructed a tower on the peak of a cliff overhanging the clean waters. Today it is a part of an imposing castle, in which we can see many museum collections. You should not miss to visit the island in the middle of the lake. There, in most ancient times, the Slavs worshipped Ziva, Goddess of love and fertility. Later, in the Middle Ages, the town flourished and pilgrims gathered on the small island to pray in the Virgin Mary Church.
