Ancient Greece spans the time from the 7th to the 1st century B.C. A time when arts and sciences developed. The history of Ancient Greece is divided into periods. The oldest, called the Archaic Age, was the one in which the first city-states, or polis, were created and the first temples were built. The next, the Classical Age, was a time of progress and development of Athens, which became the most important polis in Hellas. The Hellenistic Age was the last period of Ancient Greece. It is related to the conquests of Alexander the Great and the spread of Greek culture even beyond the boundaries of Europe. Enjoy the wonderful Ancient Greek treasures!
